The new gated community off Edward Street, apartments for disabled and elderly people were built here recently.

Wolfe Tone Street taken from it’s junction with Edward Street.

Work is now well underway on the old Methodist Church facade located on Bedford Row.

The Marriot Hotel Development on the corner of Bedford Row and Henry Street.

Henry Street with the New Dunnes on the Right and the Marriot on the Left. Were this 20 years ago a one storey Spaights would be where Dunnes is and a big grey wall of the Savoy would be where the Marriot is now.

The Limerick Hilton and strand apartments as viewed from the opposite end of the bridge. The building with the rounded roof on the left is the now closed boatclub.

St. Mary’s Cathederal. On a day like today, you will find loads of people enjoying the sun on the grounds.

Thomond Bridge and King John’s Castle.

The Tavern At The Castle. It seems to be closed now unfortunately.

From the top of John’s Castle, Thomond Bridge and St. Munchin’s Church.

From the same spot on the Castle, the River Shannon,

View in the other direction towards the City Centre. The Riverpoint and Clarion towers can be seen in this picture.

Watchtower on the Castle.

Whilst at the castle I captured photos of some of the stuff that was on display there. Fist was this cart

Leaving the castle in the direction of Thomond Bridge, one will come accross the new Bard of Thomond statue which was erected just over 18 months ago.

I’m actually quite impressed with this one, the Treaty Stone and John’s Castle.

The Limerick Hilton, a closer shot of the new hotel. It is located on the site where the Ennis Road Jury’s Hotel once stood.

The Rowing Club from the opposite side of the Shannon.

A view of the Ennis Road the Bridge.

The scaffolding has come down from the second Riverpoint Tower.

On the off-chance you need reminding of where you are, look no further than along the new bridge for reminders. A big banner accross the street from Riverpoint welcomes sports fans to Limerick.

The Hartstonge Gate development from Henry Street. I believe that this is where the decentralised department of Foreign Affairs Aid offices are going to be located. This picture was taken from the junction of Henry Street and Hartstonge Street.

The problem with property speculation is that sometime, buildings lie empty for years. This one on the corner of Hyde Road and Carey’s Road seems to be now falling into disrepair.

  • These images brilliant. It describes lot of interesting information regarding the property related issues and their facilities in it.
