Sit in protest at Limerick Prison

One, Two, Three Four,
We Won’t take it anymore,
Five, Six Seven, Eight
Give us back our drugs…. and stuff

While those in the rest of the city are protesting because not enough is being done to keep drugs out of their area, those on one little corner of Mulgrave Street are protesting because there isn’t enough drugs in their area.

Prisoners at Limerick Prison staged a sit in protest today in the Excersise yar over the success at which authorities are having rooting out drugs from the prison.

They are also protesting the severity of punnishments being handed down by the prison in relation to drugs.

The poor babies, you would think they were being given 20 lashes for every tenspot found in their cells, not that it wouldn’t hurt mind you.

The Irish Examiner newspaper reports that visitor numbers are down by 30 percent since Rocky, the drug busting sniffer dog started working at Limerick Prison.

The paper has also claimed that the four legged friend of decorum in Limerick Prison goes into hiding during his off duty hours due to the fact that several violent criminals want to “do him in”

Rocky found seven stashes of drugs on Tuesday.
