Two-thirds of Limerick city children born outside of marriage

Statistics released by the Central Statistics office, detailing the number of births deaths and Marriages in the country show that 62 percent of all children born in Limerick City were born outside of Marriage, making it the highest in the country percentage wise.

However, out of all babies born in 2006 in Limerick, only 57 percent of them were born outside of marriage.

30 percent of births in the county were outside of marriage. The lowest figure in the country was Galway with just under 20 percent.
