In pictures: Richard Harris statue unveiled

The much awaited statue of Richard Harris was revealed to the public on Bedford Row this morning.

The statue is located outside the Bank of Ireland and stands at a height of about 9 feet.

The statue depicts Harris in the role of King Arthur.

Surrounding the statue are four plaques, containing information about some of Harris’ films as well as a brief biography of the actor.

    I loved him in this role and forever think of him as Arthur.

    I think it is a great idea to put up a statue for One of Limericks finest sons....But....Is it only me who thinks it looks rather like Peter o'Toole !!

    I think the statue is wonderful and a fitting tribute to a wonderful man. Limerick should be proud of such great works of art.
