Extreme weather alert

Heavy rains are causing some major flooding.

Main Street Shannagolden is flooded, as is parts of the N69 road.

Parts of the Limerick to Killaloe road are reported by local radio to be impassible.

Anyone wishing to report road closures and diversions due to flooding may do so in the comments section of this post for the benefit of other readers.

The river near Meelick has burst it’s bank, and motorists are being advised to exercise extreme caution.

There are areas of flooding on the dual carriage way between Limerick City and Shannon

95fm reports flooding at Sixmile bridge, as well as Limerick to Bruff road.

The fire service are on the scene in the main street in Foynes as that road is currently flooded.
