Anthony Foley to retire from Rugby at the end of the season.

Anthony Foley, Munster legend, Captain of the Victorious Munster Team that lifted their first Heineken Cup in 2006 as Captain today announced that he will retire from the game at the end of the season. Axle as he affectionately known as by to those very knowledgeable supporters will be missed in many ways, his calming influence on the pitch is a noted factor, and this season for Munster his performances have been fantastic, his presence alone on the team says volumes. He was part of the Shannon team that won 4 all Ireland leagues in a row in the 90’s; he played in all 48 games. For Ireland he made his debut in Jan 1995 v England in Dublin and scored a try that day, The season is not over yet ,and I can see myself writing more about this man before the season ends
