    I will look into it. I believe roaddeaths.ie had something similar to what you are talking about on their site.

    I mean rather then copying images of google have a permanent mymap embedded on your site, which you can placemark your stories on it, its quite quick now and can be collaborative

    yahoo pipes is the yahoo version take newsfeed plus live earth = geocoded news map

    can't find a good examples right now
