Ennis Cathedral was full for Brendan O'Regan's Funeral Mass yesterday - some very moving tributes paid to him during it. His son Andrew recalled that while Dr. O'Regan was wearing his many hats in Shannon, the staff wryly referred to him by his initials, BOR, standing not for his name in this case but for what he expected of them - which was Bash On Regardless!

I never saw so many politicians and city fathers (and a few mothers) in such an array of really good overcoats but most touching were all the retired workers from early Shannon days recognizing and greeting each other. Hard to keep the eyes dry when watching that! A great send off for the man and all so well deserved.
