Bodies of father and son found near Limerick/Kerry border

The bodies of a father and son, aged 54 and 27 respectively, have been found in a house in the Moybane area of County Kerry, close to the Limerick Border.

The mens bodies were discovered this morning, and Gardai have now sealed off the area for technical examination.

The state pathologists office has been notified.

  • I suppose all avenues have to be investigated Flipit, they said they were only ever examining the possibility of a suicide pact.

ok....so the gardaĆ have declared, finally, 48 hours almost since the discovery of the deceased...that they have escalated the investigation to a murder enquiry. Apologies, but the fact that the pair were discovered in their nightclothes, shot twice in the back, with a gun found someplace else in the house, leads me, a casual observer to believe that they were victims of a crime. There are now 70 GardaĆ including themselves in this investigation. one can only hope it is not too late.......Apparently the first 48 hours are the most crucial in any criminal investigation.....as I said, I'm just a casual observer....
  • It was a double murder, Gardai will verify later today.

Hate to go all CSI about this....but the Gardai are investigating possibilty of a suicide.....

The Gardai deserve a medal.....No gun - and the two lads were shot in the back according to the independent newspaper today...

Feel bad - Moyvane is such a small place, and the inaccuracies in the media are not going to make anyone feel better about there being a potential murderer on the loose....
