Castletroy College win the Senior Cup

Following on from their Junior Cup win just five days ago, Castletroy College today captured the Munster Schools’ Senior Cup for the first time in the school’s short history. Facing favourites CBC, a blistering start from Castletroy saw them 18-0 up at half time, and a second-half resurgence from the Cork side was not enough to change the outcome of the game.

Pictures and a fuller match report to follow soon.

Irish Times and Munster Rugby match reports are also available.

It was on across the road from me and I didnt know it was on.. I flicked on to Setanta by chance and hey I missed only the first 2 mins. A brilliant victory. Best of luck to the lads who got injured especially from CBC. CC have some good players who might have a future in rugby.. especially McCarthy (I think its him.. number 12). What a try.

Great stuff and well done. Had the pleasure of being there on St. Patrick's Day. After the disappointing International performance of the w/e it was truly uplifting to watch such an open and well contested match. Castletroy were deserved winners even if the nerves almost went toward the finish, but CBC were never going to roll over and it made for a very entertaining game.

Congratulations to both the Senior and Junior teams. A fantastic double for Limerick!
