Ryanair start another route from Shannon

Ryanair announced today that they are starting a route from Shannon to Berlin starting from the 30th of May.  The service for Tenerife will be reintroduced for summer on the 1st of June with an extra flight also added to the malaga route from May 29th.  Ryanair will carry up to two million passengers in and out of Shannon this year and they have announced that they are releasing 100,000 seats from Shannon for ten euros including taxes and charges but doubtless there will be the extras for carrying bags etc!

Great news. A fantastic city, and even if it were some distance from the airport (which in this case it isn't), so what. The alternative up to now has been to drive through that nightmare in Dublin to arrive in its overcrowded terminal or transfer via another European airport.

At least Ryanair show some commitment to Shannon - unlike that shower in Aer Oráiste, who have been reluctant to issue figures for their knockdown rate services out of RAF Aldergrove. Although a 70% load factor out of Belfast on the Heathrow run compared to 92% on Shannon makes sense when you add in the incentives from the Brit taxpayer and Bertie's New Pale Fund.

Anyway enjoy Berlin....and travel light, just bring enough beer money!

And that suburban train in berlin brings you directly into the heart of berlin in just 40 minutes for only approx 2€. look where the limerick bus brings you for 1.45€. if you are lucky and there is a bus you have a chance to get from raheen to city center in 40 minutes...

    Angry Man,
Berlin- Schonefeld, is one of the main airports serving Berlin. If memory serves me correctly, it is ~15 mins taxi ride right into Berlin centre. So, yes it actually means Berlin and not a 2 hour bus ride away

Do they actually mean Berlin or some little airport 2 hours bus drive from Berlin?

    Good news for the region.

Berlin is a fantastic city to visit.
