Disconnected Dempsey coming to Limerick
The excuses being given to us is that European Law prevents the Government from becoming directly involved. I reject that. If it comes to pass that that excuse continues to be put before us, we will have an opportunity, when there is a referendum for a new European Treaty put before us, and we then altogether have an opportunity, if we’re made do it, to say No.

Limerick’s most popular transport minister is coming to Limerick on Thursday to flog the Lisbon Treaty to us.
Noel Dempsey, who sat idly by while Shannon’s Heathrow slots were moved to Belfast last year will be at the Southcourt Hotel to attend a public meeting on the upcoming Lisbon Treaty referrendum.
The referrendum takes place on June 12,however critics claim that the Lisbon Treaty is pretty much the same as the defunct EU constitution.
It took 44 days for news of Shannon’s troubles in relation to the Heathrow slots to filter down from the Civil Servants in the Department of Transport to the Minister last year.
DDuring the Save Our Slots rally last October, there were calls for people to vote no to the Lisbon Treaty in order to send a message to the Government in relation to Shannon-Heathrow.
Thursday’s meeting is being organised by Limerick Fianna Fail.
