15 year old boy accused of murder

A 15 year old boy has appeared at the District court charged with the murder of a man last September.

The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is accused of murdering 33 year old Patrick Coleman on 2 September 2007.

Mr. Coleman died after he was attacked near his home in Carew Park. He was making his way home after leaving a nearby public house where he watched the All Ireland final between Limerick and Kildare on television.

The court was told by Detective Garda David Nolan that he arrested the boy at 0717 hrs, and also stated that he made no response when informed of the charge.

Free legal aid was granted to the boy, and he was remanded in custody to Trinity House in Dublin until the next sitting of the Children’s Court on June 3. Judge Tom O’Donnell stated that bail was a matter for the High Court.

Actually Patrick Coleman was also known as Happy. Both he and Richard Kelly had the same nickname.

he wasnt known by everyone as "Happy",that was another young fella killed and found in a lake months later for reportedly stealing a gang members car. Patrick Coleman was another innocent man killed after watching the all ireland. rest in peace to the both of them

To the point: What a wonderful way of life you describe. Something to be truly proud of.

From all accounts that I have heard he was a gentle inoffensive man who kept his head down and never bothered anybody. Unfortunatley he came face to face with Limericks finest.

    RIP Pat

good point To the Point, long as you dont have one of those shitty plastic bags you get in the shops, the cans would be gone thru the arse of it soon as you started to swing it. I personally find a can of beans (unopenbd of course) to be very handy, its not too heavy and you can bring the edge of it down hard over the scumbags left eye or bridge of his nose, then while he is stunned use the undented end of the bean tin to subdue him enough that his mates back off and you can get away.

Biggie: Where did I mention this young boy? I referred to the person who murdered Happy. Do you have extra information about this kkilling?
  • raggedtrousers
hmm.. don't know the people involved here but- "let justice take it's course"
there is no justice in the law! have you not seen the sentances people get, cases collapsing eg. a clerical error, if it even gets that far. not many people go to jail for murder in Ireland- it's usually manslaughter and if their sentanced it's only a few years before their out, not to mention all the crime by convicted persons out on bail!

bigge is off on his crusade again, always sympathising with the sucmbags who perpptrate the crimes, never a word of sympathy for the poor victims. Last time he was defending a scumbag who broke into a priests house and attacked and robbed him.

Well let me tell you this much biggie, I know the story, pat was walking home from the quality hotel with a few cans, he was gonna have an oul splif and a drink, listen to a few tunes then head to bed as he had to be up early for work.
Unfortuneately he passed a gang of local younglads, some sucmbags, some just the usual sheep. They tried to take the cans off him but he refused so they jumped him and one of the scumbags put a broken bottle into his neck. Pat managed to get away but bled to death in his own house shortly after.

Its not unlike the case of the poor polish lad attacked and burnt with lighter fuel for refusing to hand over his cans to a different gang of scum.

only a few years ago 2 friends of mine were attacked in braod daylight by a similar gang of scumfellas for 4 cans of beer. one of my mates lost his right eye in the attack, the other got stabbed in the back several times, also with a broken bottle.

Tell us all now, just how these guys might be contributing to the world.
  • biggie
how do you know this young boy is contributing nothing to this woprld, also he hasnt been convicted yet, we gont know the full story yet. let justice take its course.

A senseless act, one life taken the other life ruined....

Rest in peace Happy, lets hope some justice is done.

Patrick Coleman was known to everyone as "Happy".

He was the most decent, kind and helpful man you could meet.

We're all poorer for his passing, while the worthless person who took his life is still walking around, making the world a worse place and contributing nothing, unlike Happy.
