  • Yeah, Looking at it now I see what you mean. What is in the picture is actually the new building behind the waste ground where presumably Tracaey's was. You can see it here from a similar location taken at the munster homecoming a few weeks ago.

The hanging baskets are actually in the photo (when I look at the large original) but they are very faint and of course have nothing in them in Jan.

It must be big I thought the land was lower on that side.

Shanaboley, you are correct there, it's not the convent itself I am on about though. There is a new facility there which was built in the far corner of the convent gardens, that can be seen from St Munchins., I reckon that is what the chap has caught in the image..
  • Shannaboley
I dont think you can see St Marys from the front of St Munchins?
  • Ian o'neill
What you have got there, aint Traceys shop. I reckon , it's a large building that was built in the grounds of St Marys convent. Man it's really weird..

Traceys, WAS right where the light shines to the left of the castle turrett at the Top of thomond bridge. Also I note from the pic, that the wrought Iron hanging basket brackets that adorn the bridge for almost 9/10 years if not more, are not in the image. If you go to this link you will see an image which was taken from pretty much the same location , lo and behold, there is a large sign, which reads Medieval Quarter. Just to the right of that sign would stand the bard of Thomond statue.. There is no way in this widely earth that the image you took, was taken in the last 8/9 years. I have since checked with the owner of Tracey's who has advised, the old shop and his neighbours Mr Guerin, has been gone a long long time. Approx 9 years or so.
  • Very weird! Which one is Tracey's?
  • Lazarini
    All,

you have been conned. No way was that taken lass january or even 07 for that matter,. I was born and bred in St Mary's Park and those 2 buildings at the top of the image have been gone for a long long long time. There is now a lovely sign there. Even if you go back to this link on the blogger http://www.limerickblogger.org... The bard of thomond statue, was unveiled in 06 and if this image was taken in Jan 07, it would be in direct line of sight from where this photo was taken.

Excellent photo. Find it astounding that it was taken in January of last year, considering that the shop in question, Tracey's aka the dairy, and the building attached, which was Guerins, he used to repair TVs, have been demolished almost 4 if not 5 years..
  • PoxyShamrock
    Ah right!
    Nicely done! :D
  • Thanks, lookin forward to seein it with the logo etc.

PoxyShamrock: Not really photoshopped, just levels and curves. The effect on the water is because I used a very long shutter speed effectively blurring the water and the lights. The bright lights in the middle are car headlights.

taytoboy: Don't know about the shop but the photo was taken last year on a very cold Jan morning at dawn.

well done phil looks great. how old is the banner pic? traceys old shop is in the pic and thats knocked a good ten to thirteen years now
  • PoxyShamrock
