well i still think the song , as a rugby anthem, as i understood it to be, is awful. Thats what i think and im entitled to my oppinion, and this is as good a time and place as any to express it, ok?

On the other hand i wasnt aware until now that it had ANYTHING to do with an Autism charity, only that the proceeds were going to a worthy cause of some nature so for Cutie to come on here ranting and foaming at the mouth about how ignorant we are towards Autism sufferers is a bit of a strecth. Shes basically putting words in our mouth in fairness.
Its like shes has been waiting years for someone to mock autism so she could attack them but in absense of that she decides attacking us all is the next best thing.

So cutie, get down off your high horse/donkey whatever and take a deep breath and read our comments again with a clear mind. NO-ONE is mocking Autism patients what-so-ever ok? I have a good friend who’s eldest boy suffers from that very condition so i know its no joke.

Fair play to the little boy singing in front of everybody i hope they raise money for autism there is not enough facilities out there for them which is sad. Greg is only doing it for himself because he has nothing else going on, they should get Leanne Moore or somebody who cares about the charity and not themselves!

No that is not what I am saying at all, I also use alternative treatments .I was initally under the impression that it was the offical song/charity I would think that unfair to target such a small group however deserving.Ok that was my mistake I am sorry .I dont think they should say they are the only school to meet the needs of Autistic children its misleading.
I did not mean this debate to have a reflection on the little boy he himself is charming as are most kids who suffer from this.Anon you are right awareness is always good.Sorry if I kept you both up I keep forgetting the time difference.

Shannaboley, I too have a child with multiple disabilities and in main stream education. Even to achieve the slightest bit of assistance I had to fight tooth and nail. The system is highly flawed and monies are being flushed down the toilet fighting court cases the amounts are unjustifiable so too are the reasons behind it.
However this record is for charity (charity irrespective of the cause) and by highlighting it some good may come from it.
Because of discrepancies, discrimination and ignorance in the system children are being denied their civil liberties and their right to a proper education….it’s all wrong but this thread isn’t the place to cast dispersions on a disabled childs achievements.
I’m aware of the frustration of fighting the system has on parents its overwhelming lets hope awareness and some hope comes from the release of this song .

There is an education system in place within the realms of the public school system.They are choosing not to use it .
They may be right it could be shit! but they are not being denied an education.
ABA schools are an alternative .

well then let them release a record. In a months time there will be a record out for another charity, and the month after that there will be another. This one happens to be out now, at a time when munster are playing a heineken cup final and at at time when the Minister for Education is willing to spend millions on court cases so these children are not provided with an education.

And ABA schools are not the only disabled kids being denied a proper education by the government.

The record iitself will probably not raise a hell of a lot of money, it only takes 3000 sales to get to number one in this country, but it will put ABA education on the forefront of people’s minds.

By your logic, people who sell daisies for depression are bastards because they don’t raise money for anorexia, or people who sell red ribbons for Aids are bastards because they don’t give money to cancer charities.

In answer to your question what do I do? I have a six year old with asbergers syndrome a form of autisum she gets mainstreamed in school just as Bill gates did who also has asbergers. I spend a lot of time at school with her.Maybe they dont get the coppers cause they are not a school! My Hmmm was in reference to all the pieces from other artists songs that are used.
The heineken cup was referenced the child is wearing a jersey my bad!
I am sure there are a lot of austistic kids in limerick other than the six that attend this school.
