Charlotte Mulhall moved to Limerick Prison

Charlotte Mulhall holds a knife to the throat of drugs offender Denis Givney

Convicted killer, Charlotte Mulhall has been moved to Limerick Prison after photographs of her holding a knife to a male inmates throat have become public.

Mulhall, along with her sister Linda, are serving time for killing Fareh Swaleh Noor whose dismembered remains were found in the Royal Canal in Dublin in 2005. The killing earned the two women the nickname “The Scissor Sisters.”

Some serious questions as to how a prisoner was allowed in possession of a knife and how male and female prisoners are allowed to socialise are being asked by opposition parties.

The man in the photograph, taken in the Kitchen at Mountjoy Prison, is drugs offender Denis Gibney, who was serving time up until July of this year. The picture is believed to have been taken with a mobile phone.

An investigation in to the circumstances surrounding the offending photograph is currently under way.

    she must be even denser than i thought. serving a life sentence means you have to be very careful of any controversy. this could mean her doing several years more than than she would have. stupid thick person. a very costly picture indeed.

    I've no problem with male and female prisoners socialising, though being able to get a knife like that in prison is clearly a disgrace

    Ah, the penal Irish prison system. Any wonder it holds no fear for those who enter its portals.

    Mr. Gibney would want to hold that he holds most dear to himself a little closer though, regardless of the apparent cut-throat shave, once Charlotte gets a knife in her hands she has a bit of a reputation for removing certain male appendages and hiding them. Not that there seems to be any shortage of pricks in our prisons, so one less wouldn't be missed.

    I have major suspicions about the validity of this photo.
    Between the reflections of the knife and the lack of symmetry between the two chairs - a lot is left to be explained.

    A zoom in to the top of the seat clearly indicates manipulation of the pixels where the knife is resting on the chair and the grip of the female's hand does not match the grip.

    Expert opinion: 80% chance that this photo is fake.

    photo-shopped for sure, but its a good one in fairness. But dammit shes UUUUGGGGGGGLY. Not sayin i wouldnt do her if she put the knife to me throat and told to lob it in to her, just twud have to be from behind tho. Hey. tis only the truth like.

    would you think the comments were blase if she wasn't a convicted killer? Or would you think they were disrespectful to this woman? Definitly her crime was vicious in the extreme and i don't think anyone needs to die that way irish or new irish, but i'm almost sure she'd be upset by some of the comments made about her on this site.

    i dont think her victims nationality has been any issue. here the only person who seems to be making an issue of it is you rosin. this was a vile murder carried out by a sadistic kilerand aided by her equally vile sister.
  • Photo faked? I don't think so. Perhaps run through a sharpening filter, but I don't see any evidence of pasted heads, etc...As for the "floating cake", it just looks like a small cake that you could easily hold in one hand. The reflection in the knife looks like what you'd expect. The hand holding the knife shares the same light source as everything else, including the knife. Anyway, looks like we'll be hosting her here. Oh joy!
