More bad news on Limerick roads!

It has not been a good few weeks on the roads around the county with a number of fatalities and serious accidents.  Friday the 22nd of August will go down as a black friday on Limerick roads with two fatalites and a number of people seriously injured as a result of car crashes. In the early hours of Friday morning one man was killed and two seriously injured after an accident on the Rathkeale bypass.  Friday evening three people were injured, one seriously in an accident out in Mungret and later Friday night another fatality has occurred when a male driver was critically injured after a two car crash in  Ballingarry.  Emergency services are still at the scene and the road is currently closed.  That makes three fatalaties on Limerick roads in the last week, not a good statistic.

UPDATE SUNDAY NIGHT  . One of the men who was critically injured Friday at the accident on the Rathkeale bypass has now also died.  The two men who were Polish nationals were living in Castletroy

Also Ditz, the numbers of people being killed by these reckless drivers should be taken into consideration. Nobody should be left drive HGV's or commercial trucks/vans until they can prove competence. A licence from a country with different standards and not least right-hand drive, should not suffice.

The number of Polish and other eastern europeans being killed and seriously injured on the roads is becoming ridiculous.

Apart from having some level of english I'd like to see them have to pass their driving test within 3 months on being in the country.

Polish lads are even worse for speed than Irish lads.
