County Council asked to consider re-using “final” resting places

Over a century ago they were given a propper burial, no one knows who they are, and now they have no one to defend them or protect them from the greedy mits of Limerick County Council.

It is hardly surprising, considering what this party is doing to the living, that a member of Fianna Fail would come up with a plan to take something from the dead – their place of burial.

Councillor Eddie Wade, has asked the Council to consider re-using the graves of people whose history is not known in the area due to a lack of documentation, or who do not have headstones.

“I’m talking about graves that are 100 and 120 years old and we may be only talking about seven or eight plots per graveyard but every little bit helps. There are cemeteries around Limerick that people don’t even know about so if you got a few in each one it could help the situation considerably.” Councillor Wade is quoted on the Limerick Leader website.

One wonders how he would feel about his own resting place being re-used some time around the year 2150.
