GE jobcuts to affect Shannon
GE Money, which has bases in Dublin and Shannon is to lay off 80 of it’s Irish staff.
It is as yet unknown how many of these will be at Shannon, where 200 staff are based. The consultation period with workers will begin immediately.
GE Money is also set to cut back on some of the services it is offering in the republic.

From January next, GE Money will cease to offer residential mortgages in the Republic of Ireland, but will continue to provide inventory finance facilities to selected car dealers, as well as retail car finance and ancillary insurance products. However, it said the level of business transacted “will be significantly reduced compared to previous years”.
