Hi William,

Fact is that you are consistantly refusing to tell us what Councillor “Batman” Kiely has done for the people of Kileely, Ballynanty & Moyross.

It is simply not credible for you to maintain that 100% of Councillor Kielys work is done in secret.

Is there not even one single thing that you can come up with to support your claims that he has helped his electorate?

I am absolutly 100% certain that if Councillor Kiely had some achievement to his name we would have heard about as he is a master of getting publicity for himself.

He is in the local papers almost every week either talking about his favourite building projects or else talking tough on crime.

No, If councillor Kiely had something to boast about it would be all over the papers.

As far as the local criminals not liking Councillor Kiely, I think that it is more reasonable to say that he is irrelevant to them, as evidenced by their increased activities in his area.

If tough talk, press releases & photo opportunities would solve the crime problem then Councillor Kiely would have it sorted years ago. Unfortunately for Councillor Kiely, part of the solution is putting in some work on the ground and engaging with the local community. Sadly, in my opinion, he has shown a marked reluctance to do this so far. Perhaps the impending local election will yield a flurry of belated activity by Councillor Kiely in this regard….too little….too late.

Very Witty Pat. I admit to having a laugh at your last comment. I’m not going to announce Kevin Kiely’s good deeds to the world here on the internet. If he want’s publicity, he can issue a press release. All I know is that he is a decent man. I’m not trying to have the man re-elected, I couldn’t care less if he ever got into the council again. I know, from personal experience that he helps people out ‘on the quiet’ & is strangely immune to broadcasting his achievements, for a politician that is. In plain language, Kevin is an oddball. He makes no attempt to project a more attractive persona through the media or any other channels. Kevin is Kevin, disliked by many, including most criminals in Limerick & liked & respected by some including myself who know what he does & who he does it for. If he doesn’t get re-elected, he will find something else to do with himself. The bottom line is that he has plenty of support in Thomondgate, Kileely, Ballananty & Moyross & is well respected by the law abiding citizens of greater Limerick.

You are making Councillor Kiely sound something like Batman, secretly changing into his custume to perform secret good deeds that can never be revealed.

So basically what you are saying is that your friend Councillor Kiely is secretly “pulling strokes”, which can never be revealed, on behalf of anonymous constituents.

This could even start a trend all over the country. I can see it now….all those councillors who remained seated on their fat arses for the last few years now have the perfect answer for those who noticed that they were doing nothing. They can claim that they were doing secret work for unknown constituents.

I might even try it at work if my boss says that I am doing nothing. I will simply use the Councillor Kiely defence and tell him that ” I was doing secret work for a secret customer, which I cannot speak about”

You might have started a trend here Kevin :-)

Pat, I’m not a spokesperson for Kevin. I just know that he’s a decent, law abiding family man. Clearly he isn’t liked by a few people on here, I know he wont be losing any sleep over that. I’m not going to be drawn out on specifics regarding some of the things he’s done for his constituents, that’s for him to blow his own trumpet if he wants, I personally know people he has helped out & that’s about all I’m going to say.

The people that Kevin helped out know who they are & what he did. Sufficient to say he pulled a few strokes, as local politicians do & he takes care of those that support him.

Have to agree with Pat,

I haven’t heared of anything Kiely has done except show up at the opening of envelops for the photo op!!

William Bell cant back up his claims as he has no evidence of Kiely having done anything constructive.

Will the face he pulls when he loes his seat be as much fun as the one he pulled when he wasn’t voted mayor and had to walk home because he sold his car in favour of using the mayloral car.LOL.
