To Darren and Londonlod: The march was cancelled as requested by the family (who were along with me and other close friends at the game because to be there for the minutes silence this was very important to us the game wasn't) it was organised by well meaning people that may have got a bit carried away with themselves in there attempt to send a message that Limerick is sick of ignorant c**ts thinking they run our city hinding behind guns and intimidation these people are f**king cowards..as someone who was known Shane all most of my life I do find your post offensive and ill informed while people like me are struggling to get on with our lives you feel this need to seek justice for people who quite frankly don't deserve it..Shane wasn't famous but HE WAS a great friend of mine and HE WAS completely innocent (i'd also like to thank others for pointing this incorrect post out) I do also respect your right to have your opinions heard but let me make this clear to you if i ever hear you speaking them in public I will hurt you

And as I recall it was idiots like yourself who were calling for a march shortly after this incident but when ye realised that ol Ireland were playing a match up in Dublin on the same day of the march it was promptly cancelled….! As for the victim being loved by someone…sur aren't we all…?including the murderer…!….get a grip while your at it….

Darren – no need to be so inconsiderate ….. Would all the hype be more deserved if he did play for Ireland ?? At the end of the day he was a really nice guy who was cruelly murdered and has left destroyed lives behind him. It doesnt matter if he was on a schoolboys team or played for Munster.
The reason there is so much hype is because he was an honest, good natured person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Of course he wasnt the only innocent person killed this year but its the way he was killed that causes so much outrage.
People are shocked and disgusted and cannot forget about it. While there is still public interest the papers will write about it, interest = sales.
I dont understand people like you who have to throw in some horrible comment – why do you care if people are still talking about it ? Maybe his case has go more attention than others but surely one solved murder is better than none ?
Does it ever cross your mind Shanes family might read your comments ? It may be just an oppinion to you but think about what you say. You are speaking about someone who was loved by others and then taken away from them and you seem to imply that because he was not a professional rugby player, we should all have forgotten about it long ago.

it was a unforturnate case of mistaken identity he was not the intended target but we should remember he is not the only victom of this feud and the cause of this feud needs to be addressed if we want a better limerick
