Its League of Ireland time again and the now 37 less LimerickFC kick off tonight in the first division with a game away to UCD who were relegated from the premier last year.  Limerick are currently managerless and still own groundless (renting off the LDMA to use Jackman Park) but  the chances of a return to the Markets field , dubbed the spiritual home of soccer in the city may be getting a step closer with the recent meeting involving club representatives and those of  Bord na gCon and Limerick City Council.  A working group has now been established to look at the possibility of re-developing the Market’s Field into a municipal stadium.  Limericks first home game is next friday night the 13th against new league participants Mervue, from Galway.

The Erin Go Brawl event which we had mentioned here as taking place in New York on the 16th of March has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Andy Lee and Jamie Power were due to be on the bill.
