Obama requests copy of Corrigan Brothers Album

Following the presentation by Taoiseach Brian Cowen of a copy of the Corrigan Brother’s single, “There’s No One as Irish as Barack Obama” during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Washington, news reaches us that the US president has requested a copy of their upcoming album, “An Irishman invented Rock and Roll.”

‘To have your cd single presented to the President of the United States is an honor that few artists achieve but to have him request a copy of the album is overwhelming and a most wonderful experience’. There is one on the way to the White House by courier” said groups lead singer, Ger Corrigan in a statement released earlier today.

The request was made on March 20th according to the statement.

Oh well, we are what we are! Obama doesn't seem into the Irish thing at all really. It'll make it easier for him to pull the plug on US companies here I suppose. Have seem a few informal Youtube meet and greet things where he is shown to have a stock phrase when he meets Irish people - he always refers to 'going for a pint'. It's a long way from Bill Clinton and his genuine connection. But if Obama comes to Moneygall and comes in through Shannon, I think I'd go out there and wave like an eejit all the same.

Just about sums up the state of our nation. Brian Cowen and The Corrigan Brothers...this is what we now have to offer America. How can Obama keep a straight face? How did we become such an international embarassment in such a short space of time? All we were missing was Corporal Willie sporting his Glock. Maybe the Corrigans can get us out of this mess?

    Fair play to the Corrigans.

I hope they make loads of money.

I worked with Ger for years in Verbatim before it closed.

A shite job working for wankers but we got through it.

Well done to Ger & the rest of the band.

Wouldn't it be nice if Prez. Obama had a lifelike portrait of Biffo to gaze at while listening.........wonder where we could get one for him?
