Man found dead in Limerick Prison cell

Both the Gardai and the Prison service are carrying out investigations after a man was found hanging in his cell.

The discovery was made at around 2000 hrs and foul play is not being suspected. According to the Irish Independent, the man was imprisoned for drugs offences.

He has not yet been named.

    You have no right to say this, this was my cousin who was the greatest person who had the best heart. He did not deserve to die, people have problems with drugs and prisions are not a place to put them. They need help. I am from the states and for people like you that are uneducated maybe you should open your eyes and see how many people all over the world have drug problems

    Some message of hope when you follow the word with depression, Despair, Fascism, Slowest Growth. More like scare mongering. No problem with telling the truth but call it what it is from the start. Reassuring to see that Sinn Fein have joined the ranks of all the other parties which should have Fein at the end of their name.!
