2009 Street ambassadors revealed

The 2009 crop of street ambassadors for Limerick City was unveiled yesterday.  In total there will be 12 ambassadors, seven new and five returning.

They will walk three different routes throughout the city offering assistance to tourists looking for information on the city.

Limerick was the first Irish city to institute the street ambassador project.

The new ambassadors are:

  • Oliver Hayes, Woodview Park
  • Darragh Lyons, Moyross
  • Jennifer O’Brien, Hyde Road
  • Suzanne O’Brien, Adare
  • Edel Ryan, South Circular Road
  • Jean Ryan, Castletroy
  • Kieran Sparling, King’s Island
  • Albert Cullen, Ballysimon Road
  • Declan Hassett, Shelbourne Road
  • Magda Sodul, Dooradoyle
  • Cathal O’Connor, Crecora
  • Eithne Deloughry O’Byrne, Mayorstone
  • Inpsector Clued-In
    Why are they hiring those that already have jobs? There are two people on that list that are working. If it were me, I would have given the opportunity to someone deserving, in these recessionary times!

    Saw them on Catherine Street today, good for Limerick to have this service, think of the tan they'll have if the weather keeps up!
