153 high-end jobs to go at Dell

Despite assurances that there will be no further job losses at Dell, the Limerick Blogger has learned that the company is in the process of offloading a total of 153 high-end employees, as well as the 1,900 manufacturing positions which were announced in January.

While media outlets report the number of “white collar” jobs being lost in Limerick is 100, we understand that the number is in fact 153.

The largest number of jobs being cut is in the Finance and Sales effectiveness areas, where 72 jobs are to go,  IT and services is to lay off 54 while Global operations are to lay off a further 27.

Like we ever believed a word out of the mouths of WillieO and that super-incompetent Tánaiste Mary Coughlan about keeping high end jobs at Dell either way when the announcements of layoffs were made months ago.

Both hard-working Ministers conveniently on holidays and presumably unavailable for comment I take it, barring the usual platitudes drawn up by a departmental lackey..
