Dell set to face European Court battle with workers
Dell computers could be dragged to the European Court of Justice by it’s employees and former employees over its redundancy package.
A report on the Limerick Leader website states that acting Dell Workers Representative Group spokesperson Gerry Hinchey expressed his anger at Dell’s refusal to engage in talks with workers at the Labour Relations Commission.
Workers are unhappy with the severence package following Dell’s decision to lay off 1,900 manufacturing workers at Limerick and move manufacturing to Lodz in Poland.
A letter from the LRC to Mr Hinchey stated that the Human Resources department of Dell did not feel it was appropriate at this time to discuss the workers redundancy package.
